SMC electric rod actuators are designed to generate controlled linear movements in pushing, pulling, transfer and load-stopping applications. They allow position, speed and force to be managed with greater flexibility than many traditional pneumatic solutions, while retaining a compact structure that can be readily integrated into automated machines. They are available in different configurations, including rod type, guided rod, integrated controller, 24 VDC stepper motor, 120/230 VAC servo motor and motorless version. Depending on the series, they can be used for standard handling, compact applications, controlled stopping, specific environments and solutions with batteryless absolute encoder.

SMC Rodless Electric Linear Actuators
Long strokes, fast transfers and positioning with guided slider
SMC rodless electric linear actuators are solutions with a guided moving slider, designed for transfer, positioning, horizontal handling and pick & place applications. They are suitable when longer strokes, reduced footprint compared with a rod cylinder, and clean, smooth and repeatable linear motion are required. The range includes belt- or screw-driven solutions, 24 VDC stepper motor, 120/230 VAC servo motor, integrated controller or motorless version. Depending on the series, variants are available for extended strokes, high speed, heavy loads, clean rooms, battery production environments and applications requiring high rigidity.

SMC slide units are compact solutions for guided linear handling, transfer, pushing and positioning in confined spaces. They are suitable for applications requiring precision, rigidity, repeatability and simplified integration into compact automation systems. The range includes units with 24 VDC stepper motor, 24 VDC linear motor, 120/230 VAC servo motor or motorless version. Depending on the series, they can be configured for short transfers, vertical movements, miniaturised applications, measurement, pushing and systems with dedicated controllers.
